Sofía Martinicorena Zaratiegui is a predoctoral fellow (FPU-2019) at the English Studies Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, where she is currently writing a doctoral thesis on heterotopias and contemporary US literature, particularly focusing on narratives of the west and the suburbs and the cultural imaginaries related to these geomythic spaces. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, US post-45 fiction, space studies, critical geography, popular US culture, myth criticism and gender studies.
She is a member of the UCM-based research group COLIMO (Contextos Literarios de la Modernidad) and the ECR Representative for the SELGYC (Sociedad Española de Literatura General y Comparada).
